ICAJE Meeting in Rome

ICAJE Meeting in Rome

The International Commission on the Apostolate of Jesuit Education (ICAJE), recently convened in Rome by Jose Mesa, SJ, Secretary for Secondary and Pre Secondary  Education, has given its full approval and support to the International Colloquium on Jesuit Secondary Education in Rio- 2017.

The meeting also shared the Assistancy report and pledged more notworking among the assistancies.

The meeting also discussed the ways to build community of Jesuit schools throughout  the globe through its new venture Educate Magis. The www.educatemagis.org  has all the information about Jesuit schools all over the world, it has forum to have interaction among them and build online communities.

Given the opportunity to discuss the Rio Colloquium with ICAJE, and the progress on Educate Magis, SIPEI coordinator, Xavier Aragay Tusell, Ciara Buster and Mr. Eamonn McGuiness spent  4 days at the Curia, primarily to meet with Father Mesa and ICAJE and to ensure that the Colloquium and the Web are created and designed from a global perspective.

As the planning phase continues,  ICAJE’s input, perspective and expertise will continue to guide and structure the Colloquium’s scope and direction.

Mr. Eamonn McGuiness, along with ICAJE members Ed Fassett, S.J. and Sunny Jacob, S.J., also had the opportunity to have lunch with Father General Adolfo Nicolas who stated that he hoped the ICJSE in Rio will be “another milestone…” in Jesuit secondary education.
