Reflections for all....

Dear Friends
True education will never fail one from right thinking. It is all about igniting our minds and hearts to search for answers. It allows diverse thinking and not convergent thinking. It encourages freedom of expression, but with respect and concern for the other. True education is not one sided. It encourages diversity in every field. It cannot make it all one and only one. And education is the responsibility of all agencies in the society.
I am sad to see the main stream media in India which is not decimating truth but very often forming opinions that are limited and one sided. The discussions are conducted by politicians and journalists of political leanings. What about the opinions of others in the society? Thinkers and writers, social activists and common people are not heard anywhere. Prime time news becomes only noises and shouting down on panelists and even reaching at the verge of a bloody blow!
I am sad to see the low level of our political discourses. They are not very often centered on real issues of future of the nation and its people. It simply remains at the level or falling its standard. Education, health care, employment, infrastructure development, roads and ports, sustainable development, income generation through advanced agriculture, ecological concerns etc do not figure at all in the crucial debates and discussions. It is so despicable to see that we still go on with sentimental and blind emotional issues than any serious issues!
Can we afford to live in hatred and animosity against one another? Can we encourage intolerance? Can we approve violence in the name of religion? Can we be silent to the ongoing discrimination on a large section of people? How can our conscience approve suppression of dissenting voices? What justification can we have on the sudden spurt of hate speeches and mob violence? Where is our collective responsibility for the future of India and the world?
I think we need to ask ourselves as a nation these questions seriously and find answers in a dispassionate manner.....otherwise we will be in a fools paradise thinking that the world will take us seriously and we will become global leaders soon!
Let us all teachers and thinkers and visionary leaders heed these and work towards an India that is progressive and developed. Remember when we have good leaders who lead us in the right path only we will be a leading nation!
