Environment and Energy Conservation Award for Loyola School Bangalore

The Wonderla Environment and Energy Conservation Award has been instituted with the vision of recognizing and rewarding schools that help build a greener world. The belief is that when a school takes green steps, students who study there grow up to be sensitive and caring towards environment, making the world a better place to live in. The  award is a step to this larger goal of inculcating love for environment among students.

The Wonderla Team from Bangalore conducted a State Level Green Award Contest in this direction. It was to encourage the students and the educational institutions to love and Conserve Environment and Energy. The team visited Loyola High School in January 2017 and evaluated the eco friendly practices.  The team appreciated the number of green trees on campus, ‘Plastic Free Campus’ policy, ‘Clean Campus’ drive, Active Eco Club and its activities, Waste Management, and school building surrounded by Trees giving fresh air to breathe.

Wonderla office called the Headmaster, Fr Henry Saldanha, on February 15 and announced that Loyola High School Bangalore was chosen for the award. The Headmaster was requested to collect the award on February 23rd at the awarding ceremony at Wonder la. The Headmaster delegated the team from the High School to collect the award. Mr Kantaraju C R, the Eco Club coordinator, Mr N Srinivas and Mr Prajwal collected the award on behalf of the Headmaster. The award was distributed by Ms Harshika Poonacha, a renowned Kannada cine artist. It was announced that only 20 schools all over Karnataka received this award. It was a moment of honour for Loyola.
