A Student Exchange Group of 24 students (15 Girls and 9 Boys) with 3 Teachers from Leavens School of Belgium (SJ) arrived at St. Xavier's School, Ranchi. This student exchange program with Belgium is an annual reciprocal feature of SXD. SXD too sends a similar group to Belgium each year, who stay with Belgian Foster Parents for about 2 weeks.

Belgian SEP participants, on the contrary, travel around India for 10 days and visit Ranchi for 4 days at the end of the Trip.

This year, the Belgian Group has gone a step ahead and sponsored 290 Sets of School Uniforms valued at Rs. 2,00,000 and 40 Bicycles valued at Rs. 1,60,000 for the Outreach School poor children of SXD.

A special Assembly-cum-Interaction Session was organized today, 06.01.2018 at SXD at 9 a.m. wherein the Belgian Guests were felicitated with Jharkhandi Handicraft Bags for girls and leather wallets for boys. Cumulative singing, dancing and cultural interactions were done live.

Tha Group was later taken to several Outreach Projects run by SXD. They distributed educational stationery to the poor children and spent around 2 hours with them.

At 1.30 pm, they were brought back to the School, where, after Lunch, at 3 pm they had a joint cultural presentation with another group of Outreach Children who were also the beneficiaries of School Uniforms and bicycles.

At 4.30 pm, the children were taken home by 12 families, of which 6 are Doranda Old Xaverians. On Sunday afternoon they shall reassemble at the School and continue their journey to finally fly out of Delhi later next week.
