This workshop is intended for the benefit of Heads of Educational Institutions, Managers, Correspondents, Principals and Educationists, of the Catholic Church, with special focus on those working in North India.

Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru in collaboration with Jesuit Education Association of South Asia (JEASA) is happy to organize a workshop on Educational Issues Confronting us today from 7th October to 10th October 2020. This workshop is intended for the benefit of Heads of Educational Institutions, Managers, Correspondents, Principals and Educationists, with special focus on those working in South India.
As people working in educational institutions, we are faced with newer and complex challenges every day. Evidence shows that the Christian educational institutions have played a stellar role in the field of education imparting quality education and promoting all round development of the students. Yet, today, we find ourselves at the receiving end. In these difficult and very challenging times we ask - Is it possible for us to maintain our distinct identity and yet contribute significantly to the building of this nation in the education sector? How can we proactively respond and remain relevant in a changing context amidst the increasing attempts to intimidate and harass us? How could we initiate collective space at South India level for mutual learning, sharing and cooperation?
The experts will guide us in this regard while they deal with significant current challenges and issues. This workshop will offer the participants a platform to share their experiences and challenges as heads/managers/administrators of educational institutions in the presence of eminent resource persons and look at various ways and strategies to respond to those challenges and issues.

KCBC Education commission is organising 3 batches of Principals meeting at POC, Kochi. The seminar will be for 2 days each for three batches. JEA Secretary will be the Resource Person.
A one day Seminar on current educational issues is jointly organised by JEA and Christian Education groups in Kolkata on 4th May. CNI and Catholic schools Principals will attend the seminar. JEA Secretary is the resource person.
There will be an Assistancy delegates gathering in Pune from 25th April to 28th April. Delegates from all the provinces and regions of the Assistancy will attend it.
There will be a consultation on Fe Ye Alegria in Delhi on the 16-17 April 2019.
JEASA and Indian Social Institute (ISI) jointly organise a Seminar at Indian Social Institute, Bangaluru on October 17 and 18, 2018. This is mainly for the Principals of Christian Schools in South India.
Young Jesuit Educators Training will be held in Kathmandu from 6 to 12 October 2018. JEASA and ICAJE jointly organise this training.
The Principals' and educator's meet will be held for the Province of Darjeeling on 9th August. The meeting will be at Matigara. JEASA Secretary will be the resource person.
Two days of training for the Central Zone Education Bureau Resource team will be held in Ranchi on the 11 and 12 July 2018.
International Jesuit Education Commission Annual meet will be held in Rome from 22-27th May. The meeting is scheduled at the General's Curia. JEASA Secretary will be away in Rome from 20-31 May 2018
JEASA - ADO organised Eco-Consultation for schools will be held at TARUMITRA, Patna on 3rd June 2018. All the members of the core team will be attending this very important meeting. ADO and JEASA Secretary will be present for the consultation.
The Dumka JEA Education Commission will meet in June (20-25, 2018) and the teachers seminar at Sahibganj will be conducted by the JEA Secretary just after the Commission meeting.
There will be teacher's seminar for Campion School, Bhopal and a few other City schools will be done in June 12-17, 2018. JEA Secretary will be the resource person.
The meeting of the Zonal Coordinators of Jesuit Education, and the Central Zone PCE's will be held at New Delhi on the 14-15 April, 2018.
Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP) Seminar for the lectureres of St. Xavier's College Ahmedabad. The seminar will be conducted by JEASA Secretary on 22-23 January 2018
The 75th year celebration of St. Mary's Jesuit School, Madurai will be celebrated on 20th January 2018. JEASA Secretary and National Adviser of JAAI, Fr. Sunny Jacob SJ and JAAI National President will be attending the celebration at the school.
Jesuit Core Team meeting will meet for two days to reflect on the current challenges and opportunities at Indian Social Institute, New Delhi on 13-14 January 2018
JEA Secretary Fr. Sunny Jacob SJ will be visiting Asssam Mission schools from 9th till 12 of January 2018 and conduct IPP Seminar for the Teachers on 10-11 January 2018.
The 225th year Anniversary of the Oldest Jesuit school in India, St. Joseph's Boy's school, Kozhikode, Kerala will be celebrated all through the year with various programmes. On 18th of November an all Kerala Seminar for Teachers on Challenges of Education is organised. JEA Secretary will be participating in the Seminar on 18th November 2017.
The meeting of the JEA lead Constitutional Module committe will meet at Madurai on 16th May. ADO and JEA Secretary will be reviewing the progress of it in the meeting with the experts. It is meant for all our schools according to the grade. JESA too is a partner of this venture.
JAAI GC will be held on 18th and 19th of November at Ahmedabad. All the PCAs and GC members are expected to attend.
Educational Delegate Meeting is scheduled ar Rio for the Jesuit Education Coordinators of all over the world. 11 members from South Asia will be participating in this very important meeting. The meeting is from 15th October to 21 October 2017
Dr. (Fr) Jose Mesa and JEA Secretary will visit all the schools of Goa and Pune Provinces from 28th September to 4th October 2017

The 10 JeseduRio Delegates will meet with JEA Secretary and ADO at XIM Bhubaneswar on the 7th August, 2017. Along with them the 5 Core team members of the Triennial too will participate the meeting and deliberate the topics of the International Conference.
The Secretaries meet will be held this year at XUB, Bhubaneswar from 5th to 7th of August 2017. POSA and all the Secretaries will attend this very important meeting to take stock of the Assistancy works. A very well charted out time table and topics for discussion and discernment is done by the ADF.
The North Zone Jesuit Educator's meet will be held at St. Xavier's school, Delhi, from 18th till 222 July 2017. Fr. Sebastian James, the North Zone Coordinator is arranging all that is necessary with Fr. John Ravi, the PCE of Delhi. All the principals of North Zone schools are expected to attend this very important seminar.
The Educator's three day TRIENNIAL 2017 is going to be from October 6th to 9th 2017. The place of the meeting is Xavier University, Bhubaneswar. International Jesuit Education Secretary, Rev. Jose Mesa will be attending the meeting. There will be three day sessions on Discernment, Collaboration and Networking in schools. Around 250 Jesuit principals are expected to participate this three day meeting.
International Commission for Jesuit Education (ICAJE) meeting will be held in Rome from 24 May till 28th May 2017. JEA Secretary will be in Rome for the meeting. The meeting will take place in the light of the new document that is going to be out and also the thrust of the General Congregation 36. The meeting will be in the General Curia of the SJ.
The RCE of Nepal, Amrit Rai is organising teacher's seminar in all their schools from April 9-20. JEA Secretary will be the resource person.
The Jesuit Leadership seminar for the Principals of Secondary Education of South Zone Provinces is finalised. The place is Don Bosco Tech Centre in Bangalore, next to Mount St Joseph on Bannerghatta Road. Residential and seminar Hall facilities are excellent. The seminar begins on April 27th morning at 9AM and ends on 29th noon. Fr Dion Vaz(Kar) and Fr Joe Arun(MDU) are the Resource Persons who have graciously accepted to guide us through the seminar.
Jesuit Alumni Association of India will have its National Congress at Ranchi in January 26th to 29th, 2017. All the arrangements are made for the delegates. Kindly register your name in advance and book your place. It is going to be a great Congress. Arrangements are made by Central Zone province JAAI bodies.
JEA Jamshedpur province will organise a two days meeting for all the Heads of schools in Bhubaneswar in January 7-9, 2017. It will be held at Xavier University. There will be a national convention on NEP 2016 at Delhi for all the Secretaries of the Congregations of Education and for the Regional Secretaries of the Dioceses in Delhi on September 9th 2016. JEA Secretary will represent the JEA in the meeting. All the regions and the PCEs are requested to send their suggestions on the 'Some inputs on the NEP 2016' by the MHRD latest by the end of August.
The North Zone Conference (NZC) of Jesuit Alumni Association of India (JAAI) is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 11th September 2016 and is being hosted by the Delhi Old Xaverians’ Association (St. Xavier's School, Raj Niwas Marg, New Delhi).

The most important JAAI NC Meet is going to be held in PUNE on Feb. 14th. All the NC members and Province Coordinators for Alumni Associations are expected to attend the meeting. The meeting will plann out the forth coming National Alumni Meet in Ranchi.
JEA Secretary will be visiting KOHIMA Region form February 1st till 12th for his second phase of visit to Kohima and Manipur. The purpose of the visit is to see the functioning of the schools, the staff innovativeness, and Jesuit ways our schools run. Thanks to Fr. Victor D'Mello who is arranging the visit and seminars etc.
From 9th January 2016 till 16th January JEA Secretary will visit the Schools in Delhi province. The visit is arranged by the local Province Coordinator for Education Fr. John Ravi SJ. JEA Secretary will meet the staff during his visit and see the innovative ways the schools run.
On the Jan 5th-6th of January 2016, there will be a ttwo days seminar for the teachers of St. Mary's School, Simdega. The other Catholic Schools in the town too are attending the seminar/workshop. JEA Secretary will be the resource person.

The situation in the Middle East and in Europe is so alarming. The situation is rapidly slipping out of control. Thousands are fleeing their country and thousands have been trapped in the conflict areas. Refugees have been waiting and political leaders of all the countries are blaming each other. In the midst of all these children and women are the worst victims.
I think as educationists we must be aware of the situation and educate our children to be compassionate. Compassion is one of the components of Jesuit education, along with Conscience, Competence, Commitment and Character. Can our schools take up Compassion as the theme of the month and have reflections, assembly and other programme based on the Refugee crisis in Europe?
If you need any additional materials we will try to provide. But I am sure you are all well equipped and creative to take up and make it an educative means to make our kids compassionate and sensitive….not to hate others in the name of religion, caste, gender, country, language and ethnicity. Do our bit to make this world a better place now.

Ignatius' unique gift to the Society of Jesus and to the Church was his spirituality that invites women and men to integrate learning into a life of faith. Through education, he sought to build better communities for the greater glory of God, with a mission of love, justice and a special concern for the poor, the sick and the hungry. My hope is that our prayer on his feast day lead us to see God, our world, our work, and ourselves in a new way.

Gujarat Jesuit School Principal's meeting will be held at Baroda on 1st and 2nd of August. JEA Secretary and Gujarat provincial will be present for this important Seminar. Gujarat PCE Fr. Durai is coordinating the meeting.
The Annual JEA meet of all the Province Coordinators of Education is going to be held at WOODCOT, Darjeeling. The meeting will be on 11th 12th and 13th of November, 2015.
Karnataka JEA is organising an important SEMINAR for those in Secondary Education in Karnataka Jesuit Schools and PU Colleges, conducted by the JEA SECRETARY, FR SUNNY JACOB, on September 19-20th at Ashirvad.
Kolkata Province educators meet will be held at St. Lawrence School, Ballygunj on the 16-17th of August. JEA Secretary will be the resource person. The theme is TRANSFORMATIONAL EDUCATION, JESUIT WAY.
The Annual Meet of the Secretaries Meet is called by POSA on the 22-24th July at Lonavala.
The Annual Meeting of the Gujarat JEA is fixed for 1st and 2nd of August at Baroda. All the Principals and Coordinators of Jesuit schools are part of Gujarat JEA. The meeting is organised by the Education Secretary of Gujarat (PCE), Fr. Durai SJ. The JEA Secretary of South Asia will be present.
Kerala Province Annual JEA Meeting and an Orientation Programme for the teachers on 11th and 12th July 2015 at LES, Loyola School, Trivandrum..
Madhya Pradesh Province of the Jesuits Organises a twodays seminar/workshop for the sJesuit educators and collaborators, Principals and coordinators on 11th and 12th July 2015 in Bilaspur. The seminar is organised by Fr. Eugene Toppno SJ, the Education Coordinator of the province. JEA Secretary will be the resourse person.
There will be a two day seminar for the staff and teachers on the SIPEI vision and SIP at St. Xavier's Doranda Ranchi. The seminar will commence on 15th June morning at 8.30 a.m. and will conclude on 16th at 2 p.m. Thanks to Fr. Ajit Xess SJ, the principal for organising the seminar. ICAJE meeting started today, 26th May 2015, in the General Curia. The meeting will continue till 30th of May, 2015. All the members, Fr. Jose Alberto Msa, SJ, Fr. Joseph Arimoso SJ, Mr. Xavier Aragay Tusell, Ms. Ciara Beuster, Mr. Daniel Carmody, Fr. Edward Fassett SJ, Fr. Sunny Jacob S.J., Fr. Christopher Gleeson S.J., Mr. Eamonn, Ms. Marie Therese Michel, and Hugo Alexis Moreno SJ are present forthis important meeting on education.
JEA is organising a concultation of expert educationists in Delhi, on 20th June. The meeting will discuss and deliberate the areas where changes needed for a better educational system in the country and will submit the suggestions to the HRD Ministry of the Government of India.
The 4th GC meeting of the Jesuit Alumni Association of India will be held in St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra Mumbai on 7th June 2015.
The forth coming International Commission for Association of Jesuit Education (ICAJE) meeting will be held in Rome, in the General Curia from 26th May to 29th May 2015.
